"Hi, my name is Rebecca Durnell, Work Force Services specialist with Work Force Services bureau here in Contra Costa County. I'm going to talk to you today about how to mail a resume and a cover letter. We have some examples of some resumes here that I will share with you, and before we get to that, I do want to make a point that in today's day and age, a lot employers are expecting potential employees to apply online, or go through their own application process, but if you're dealing with an employer that is interested in receiving a resume, it's important to take the time to complete a resume that has your detailed information, and also to include a cover letter, because most employers want to know a little bit about you, or be able to read kind of an overview in regard to your experience, or why it is that you're applying for the job. So once you have that information together and you're ready, you want to make sure to have the information printed on a quality type of paper, so you don't want to use your every day, run of the mill copy paper. Go ahead and take the time to purchase a quality, linen paper, or something along those lines that is recommended for cover letters and resumes. Look over your resume closely to ensure there are no typographical errors, or any type of smudges, or anything that may detract, or be less favorable to you as the candidate. Once you have that all in line, you can simply enclose the resume itself in to an envelope, and address it appropriately to the employer to whom which you are planning to mail it to. And again, this is how to mail a resume and cover letter to an employer."
