"Wedding favors can be good and they can be bad. Some of, I'm sure everyone's got, a really bad one. And favors are a place, where if the bride has money left over to spend, will spend it. If not, don't sweat it. And if you're not sure, what to do and you can't come up with something that you really like. Then take that money and put it somewhere else. Get it specially cocktailed and serve it during the cocktail hour. One thing that I've always thought would be really interesting to do, is to take mini pots, paint them a color that will match your color scheme for your reception. Plant greenery or plant small flowers in them, cluster them in the center of the table. Use them as your centerpiece, put a little note on the table that says, please take one home. Your guests have a really, something they can take home, plant, think of you, remember you. Take it to work, put it on their desk, brighten their day. And then you're not spending money twice, it saves you a little bit of money. Another really fun thing to do at the end of the night, especially if you have a late night party. Is to, you can do plastic or glass, but vintage milk bottles, you can order them anywhere on the Internet. And hot cookies, so cookies and milk on the way out. Get a little drink carrier, put two things of milk in, add your cookies. Another fun thing, here in Wilmington we have Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. Have them deliver doughnuts, put them in little containers, hot doughnuts now, on your way out. So food's always a good thing, people like to get the munchies late night, on their way out. So it's just something different and not expected, it's not a CD, it's not a candle, it's not you know, a bottle of wine. Another really neat idea, if you live somewhere that has really fresh local preserves or known for that. Create a sticker with your monogram, your wedding date, thank you, something. And have those packaged, put your sticker on them and give those to your guests. So they can enjoy a little bit of your local culture and what you get to enjoy everyday."
