"The history of fashion is rather a broad topic to talk about but to get a little detailed and more focused on it is to understand the past trends and past influences of a culture's fashions. Biggest key points on fashion trends from the past is social and political influences and that being of people dress certain ways to show who they were socially and politically and that's what colors, what styles and you can separate the two between the riches and the poor of what they wore per someone who was poor was more simple then someone who is rich and more wealthy and more higher status is with their more complicated and tailored designs. Depending on what kind of fashion and where you're trying to focus on and what's your, say, what your influences are, you would have to be specific on the region and do you like more western styles, do you want to get more into western history or European or African history and with any designer when they're looking into influences you take part of this, as they say fashion repeats itself, history repeats itself. So it's just like when you do styling and you have references, you take a piece of work and you make it into your own twist and that's fashion does. So to learn about fashion history is a great tool as a designer is to have references and have something to be inspired, for designers to travel and to different countries and to different areas and different locations, it gives them inspiration when you seem to not be inspired anymore. And different little things as far as color, shapes could help you be inspired and to then form a collection and just created your own."
