"How to get the best deal on a new car is to put the dealerships against each other and you know, obviously, you want to buy their car. You're showing a genuine interest in buying the car. When you go into the dealership, you know, get all your answers and facts and all that stuff covered and while you're there, of course, you want the salesperson to go over the features and advantages and benefits, all the things that you want to know. So you want to make sure that you're still getting great service, and I'm sure these salespeople will give you great service, they're trying to sell you a car, and if they take it personal, they're probably in the wrong business anyway. The job is to get the best deal on the car, so once you find the car that you want to buy, and that's normally at your home town or local dealer, and what you'll do is is call around to the other dealers that are in that area or even out of that area and get the best price, and you can even let the salesperson know that's what you're going to be doing because you expect to get the best price. And once you've established that rapport, that relationship with the salesperson, then you'll have to leave, you'll have to begin calling and trying to get that best price. Once you get that best price, by putting the dealers against each other, not in a bad way, but in a sort of a competition, then you know your home town dealer has a choice to earn your business. And of course you can let them know you want to do business with them because it's more convenient and you'd love to give your home town the business, keep the money in the same city you live in."
