"I'm Dave Fadel from Bountiful, Utah, Fadel's Jewelry. Today, we're going to talk about designing a wedding band. If it's a male's wedding band we're going to design, we need to know what material that he would like to be...have it made out of -- titanium, tungsten, white, 14k, yellow gold, platinum, et cetera. On a...on a band, you can choose several different textures, finishes on a band. This particular one is sandblast. Also, there's high polished, there's stone finish, brush finish, whether there's going to be stones set in it or not. It all starts with a sketch, and then we do a wax mold of whatever the ring is, and then, of course, a finished product. If it's a female's wedding band we're designing and she already has an existing ring with some contour to it, we take that ring and we make a wax design that follows the contour of the ring, cast it, and then make it metal so that it is a finished product like this. A wedding band can be either straight like so many of them you see today are. But if there's contour to the ring, you generally have to custom-make it. Here's another example of a engagement ring with a matching wedding band that snugs up next to it and has a similar design. And that's just a brief summary of how to design a wedding band."
