"I'm Dave Fadel from Fadel's Jewelry in the bountiful Utah. We're going to discuss diamond engagement ring facts. Diamond engagement ring, it used to be that in most cases a diamond engagement ring was one of two parts of the process. The engagement ring is the one with the larger stone in the center and the wedding ring is the thing that accompanies it. Nowadays, the tradition has been broken where you no longer need two rings to be married. Oftentimes the designs today have even details on the side where a band would actually cover part of the design of the ring. Many rings today are wide so that it appears to be even two or three rings in design. So, it's optional nowadays to have two rings, one, the engagement ring and the wedding band and you, a lot of times people choose just one ring of a specific width or even a solitaire where there's still just one ring. And the engagement ring and wedding ring play the same and at the time of the ceremony, the ring is taken off and then presented as though it was the first time. Engagement rings can either have a center stone or they could be just a plain band of a any desired width, shape or style, as long as it's worn on the left hand, it's still considered the engagement ring."
