"Hi everyone, I'm Russ Handler, so you want to rent a vacation home huh? Well back in the day it was pretty simple, you just went through a Realtor and it was that simple. But with rising costs and with people not traveling as much these days, more and more these days people are going directly to the owner of the home and they're bypassing a Realtor or an agent in order to save a little bit of money. It's perfect. It means that if the owner of the property sells you that rental for a week, he doesn't have to give a commission to the Realtor or the agent which means he can in some cases give you a better deal. So what I like to do when I'm renting a vacation home is I like to get online and search out owner renters because of the fact that it keeps the red tape down to a minimum and it keeps everybody's costs down to a minimum. Also, often times when dealing with the owner, especially in this economy, you have a better opportunity to bargain an even better rate or in some cases an extra day or two or an early check in or an early check out. In some cases you might even get the owner to drop some fees associated with the rental that the Realtor just is not permitted to do. So if you want to rent a rental home, try to go directly to the owner, they're all over the worldwide web, they're easy to go a hold of and I wish you luck in your search."
