"Hi everyone, I'm Russ Handler, so you want to become a travel agent? You know the days of brick and mortar travel agencies are pretty much behind us. There's really not a lot of travel agents on every other street corner as there were in the day. Nowadays travel agents basically work online. That's because about 75 to if not more percentage of the travel book is booked online. So that's a first place to start. What you can do is you can literally become a travel agent within 10 minutes. There are organizations out there for an upfront licensing fee as they call it, or they might even change that term around, but generally about 3 to 700 dollars, you can literally become a travel agent instantly. They then charge you a monthly licensing fee and give you what's known as a travel portal or a travel engine. What you then do is you go out and you build yourself a website, you get business cards made and you go out and you sell that travel. You point people to your travel porter, portal rather, or your engine, your travel engine and people simply book. It's that simple. Then you get a monthly commission check on everything that's booked, it's that simple. But just be careful that the company that you choose is focused on selling travel and training you and not focused on signing up other agents, that's multi level marketing, that gets in the way, they'll promise you a ton of money but in most cases some of the bigger companies, those who have really going to become millionaires already have and it's a bit saturated. So if you want to become a travel agent, find yourself a reputable company that will license you, provide you with a travel engine or a travel porter, portal, and then go out and sell it. Good luck to you."
