"Hello my name is Gabriela Garzon at G.G. Image and Etiquette Consulting in Miami, Florida. In this clip I am going to talk about how to match your shoes to your suit. So there are a couple of things that are just basic that every guy needs to know. Your suit, most of the time it is dark. Either if it's navy blue, if you have strips on it, the navy blue which is a very nice color. If you have stripes. If it's black, if it's dark brown so the whole thing with shoes and suits is that your shoes should always be darker than your suit so if you have a navy suit you are supposed to wear black shoes for your suit. If it is black you are still wearing black shoes. Now what you want to avoid is wearing really light shoes with dark suits. This does not go well. You would only wear light or dark brown shoes for suits that are very light or shoes that have cream colors or like an olive type of color but those are rare suits. So if you want to stay on the safe side just go ahead and always have a pair of black nice shoes that have either the laces or the ones that are slip on for a more classic elegant look or the laces that are just for like a daily type of use which your suit like at work or corporate. If you are going out or if it is something more elegant you will need to slip on the ones that do not have the laces. But always have in your closet, darker shoes for your suits. Now the other point that you will need is that whenever you are wearing a suit the socks need to match the suit, meaning that if this is navy and the shoes are black you are going to need navy blue socks, no black socks. It needs to match first the suit. That's the only thing you need to know and of course always try to have a black pair of shoes for your suits and avoid wearing anything that is too light on your feet. Once again this is Gabriela Garzon at G.G. Etiquette Consulting."
