"Hi, I'm Steve Anthony. I'm a handy man here in New York City. About coffee tables. Let's say you're a new home owner, you've just, you've bought a house, you've done a little bit of work on it, fixed it up, maybe a couple of pieces of furniture short of a full decor. What's missing? Well, maybe a coffee table. Thing to remember about coffee tables is that there are really no rules. You can use almost anything as the base for a coffee table. Couple of center blocks with a board on top when you've got the most rudimentary possible coffee table. Generally, one of thing in terms of it being about 16 to18 inches high, somewhere that near, 19 inches. It's, you know, whatever's a comfortable height for what you're going to want to do with it. Some people want to build a coffee table, make it strong enough that somebody could sit on the corner without tipping over or breaking. If you're shopping for a coffee table, then just make sure you have in mind what you plan to do with it. Is this going to be, you're going to put your feet up on it, you're going to throw cushions on it or you're just going to use it to throw the remote controls on. Once you know what you're going to do with it then you know what kind of coffee table's going to be best for you. If you're handy, by all means build yourself a coffee table. You can use a metal frame and a wooden top, it can be solid metal, anything you want. A pile of books sometimes can be used as a coffee table. I've seen people actually glue books together to create legs and then put a piece of glass on top of it. It's an interesting option, too. Sky is the limit, use your imagination."
