So if you're building a house or you're remodeling a house that doesn't have an integrated heating system, or you have maybe you just have an external part of the house that you've added on that you weren't able to duct in for heating, a wood burning stove could be a very good way for heating that area. So things to think about if you're going to choose a wood burning stove as essentially a space heater, is make sure that the model that you choose is EPA certified. It's very important. But you have to make sure that you have good supply of wood available to you. Now don't overlook that because certain people in certain areas, they can't find wood for their wood stove and they end up not being able to use it and they have to go out and find some other alternative methods and they've wasted all that money in a wood stove. If you're going to chop your own wood, it's best if you can give it a lot of time to cure. You want it to thoroughly dry out from the inside out. Some times that can take up to a year. So if you're going to chop your own wood out in the woods, make sure you have a plentiful supply of it and know exactly when you cut that cord of wood and how long that's going to be before it's ready to use. And you make yourself some nice kindling, you can use some rolled up newspaper, crushed newspaper to start your fire under your kindling, get your log in there get it rolling and once you've built up a nice temperature, you can have, that one stove can heat an entire small house if you have, if you've done it right.
