Hi. I'm Dr. Larry Klein. I'm a dentist here in St. Petersburg, Florida. Today we're going to be talking a little bit about what types of tools dentists use on a daily basis. Well you've got basic tools that every dentist use. And those are going to be like the hand tools. They're going to have something to get the patient numb with so they'll be more comfortable. Otherwise known as an injection or a shot. They're going to have of course something to help prepare the tooth and that may be a Laser or their dental drill. There's a high speed dental drill, low speed dental drills. There's different things for actually doing root canals. Dental drills for those. And then also little hand files for actually helping manipulate through the little teeny canals in a tooth. You've got all sorts of tools to put materials into the teeth. Which are basically all considered hand tools. Some of the not so basic things that you'd consider would be a digital x-ray machine. Or Intra oral camera which would basically will show a picture of the person's tooth to them on the screen. You've got also a diagnadent which will basically show the amount of the decay on the tooth if you run it over the surface of the tooth. So there's a lot of different tools depending on the technology and whether they are basic or more complex.
