"Hi this is Jennica from Pet Planet in Riverton, Utah. I would just like to tell you about the life cycle of a chinchilla. Chinchillas actually originate from South America in the Andes in Peru and Argentina. They actually have a life span of about five to ten years but can live up to eighteen. The pregnancy cycle of a chinchilla is actually 111 days. They usually have up to one to five chinchillas in a litter and the weaning period is six to eight weeks and when chinchillas are born they actually, pretty much as soon as they are born they can actually just hop around and feed themselves but they still have to be with their mom for six to eight weeks. A good thing to make your chinchilla live a little bit longer you can actually just make sure that their diet is right, that they have enough protein and fiber in their diet and that they have plenty of water and that they have enough room for them to climb and that they have enough exercise.
