"Hi! I'm Rebecca Guenther with m5a1photography.com and I'm going to tell you how to use a fill flash outdoors. Now, much like indoors, a fill flash is meant as a secondary lighting source when your main light is you know, on one side and probably pretty harsh, you want to have a second fill light, a little bit softer, just to fill in those shadows and how your subject be rounded out, and not be so harshly lit on one side. So, when you're outdoors and you're shooting, and there's the sun, you'll notice that if your subject is turned and the sun is hitting on the half of their face or perhaps behind them, you're going to need an extra little bit of light there to help brighten up their face or help even out the lighting. And that's what a fill flash is, and that's how you're going to use it outdoors."
