"Hello, I'm Alex Mauskop. I'm a neurologist here in New York City and I'm the director of the New York Headache Center. Basilar Artery Migraine is a very rare condition and actually recent research from Denmark indicates that it may not be a real condition. Basilar migraine, the term comes from the fact that we thought that basilar artery constriction causes these neurological symptoms such as double vision, dizziness, inability to walk straight. These used to be thought because of basilar artery constriction but in fact we find that basilar artery migraine's just a pure old migraine with aura. That is migraine with a neurological symptom that precedes or accompanies a headache. So Basilar migraine is not of concern to most people. It's very rare to begin with and now we think it doesn't exist at all."
