"Hi, this is Athena Reich, and I'm an actress, singer-songwriter, and performing arts coach here in New York City. Two. In this clip, I'm going to talk about how to self-publish your music. So say you have recorded your CD, you've made an excellent CD. How do you turn it from a digital audio file into something like this? Well, one of the most popular sites is cdbaby.com, where not only will they...can...do they have graphic designers and templates for you to easily create a graphic for your CD, but they actually will sell your CD online. And they will actually contact iTunes and Napster and all the online digital vendors for you and...to get your music...to sell your music, to publish it all over the Web so that people can buy it. So CDBaby's a really great, well-known independent music store. You only pay 35 dollars per CD. When they...when you sell the CD, they take four dollars from each sale. So I sell mine for 14 dollars. I get 10 dollars, they get four. It's worth it when you think of all that they do, plus the fact that they pay for the postage and they put it in the envelope and they actually mail it out. So it's something that I don't have to think about. But you can basically...there's a lot of duplication houses. Duplication houses meaning the kinds of places that, you know, make the actual CD. But CDBaby is a great place to start. They have a lot of articles about how to get started as well. This has been Athena Reich in New York City for how to self-publish your CD."
