"Hi this is Athena Reich and I'm an actress, singer, songwriter and performing arts coach here in New York City. In this clip I am going to talk about how to start a drama club at your school. Well the first thing is you either need to talk to some of your friends who want to do it with you or talk to a teacher who you think is a creative type who might really support your project. One of the things you could do is start a Facebook group and you know if you are on Facebook already and a lot of the kids at your school are on Facebook you could start a Facebook group and invite people that way. Another thing you can do is make good old fashioned posters and put them up around the school but you definitely have to get the teacher's permission first to sponsor your group. You can think of a time that you are going to meet regularly like say I'm going to meet Mondays after school, every Monday or every Monday and Wednesday after school or meet at lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays and then you need to think about an agenda. Are you going to do theater games, are you going to put on a play? If you are going to put on a play who are you going to perform it for? Is it going to be other kids? Is it going to be, are you going to go to a local group home and perform for elderly people? So there is so much to think about but the most important thing is to find a teacher who will sponsor your group and to find some other friends who are interested in doing it and to make an agenda and stick to it. It can be, drama group clubs can be so much fun. They can just be the funnest thing that you can do while you are at school. This has been Athena Reich for how to start a drama club at your school."
