"Hi I'm Donna Barnes, life and relationship coach here in New York City and the author of It's All About You. In this clip we'll talk about how much does a life coach make? And it varies really. I think most coaches charge by the hour and that can be anywhere from as low as 40 dollars to as high as 500 dollars an hour. And there's all different types of life coaches. The first thing to look for if you're looking for a life coach is to find out if they're certified in some way. Today life coaching has become very popular and there's a lot of people out there that have decided to call themselves a coach with really no training at all. Doesn't mean that they don't know what they're talking about, but actual coaching is a very specific method. I was certified at NYU here in New York City on a method of coaching and there's also the International Coaches Foundation that regulates coaches and if you want true life coaching, then it's better to if you're looking to become a coach, to take some sort of program. And then there's all different kind of specialties to the coaches. There's executive coaches, there's business coaches, there's relationship coaches like myself and you can get kind of consultation along with coaching if it's somebody what has a specialty in something. So it's definitely you've got to build up a client base and it's not like you can immediately call yourself coach and start making a lot of money. It's gaining trust in clients and getting a network of clients but you can certainly make a very nice living, certainly in the 6 figures if you're good at what you do and you're referred well and you really do forward people's thinking, that's what coaching is about. It's about helping people set a goal and helping them reach that goal. So good luck to you if you're interested in becoming a coach. I highly recommend it. This is Donna Barnes from New York City."
