"Hey this is Jet at Vampire Freaks in New York City. In this clip we're going to talk about Gothic subculture beliefs and traditions. Now Gothic subculture is actually kind of associated with a few different religious beliefs. One of them would be Wicca which is a very old religion and it's mostly about believing in mother nature and people believe that they can cast spells, but overall it's a very friendly religion and people are taught not to harm anybody. And it's also very earth friendly. And another religion that people kind of associate goth with is satanism which really is not about worshiping Satan at all, it's really about kind of just having fun and doing what you like and not really worrying about any restrictions or rules. And another religion that goth culture would be associated with is vampirism which vampirism there's kind of vampuric families where it's a little bit similar to Wicca in that they do have kind of rituals but it's also a kind of family hierarchy where these families are very supportive of each other and sometimes each member has their own role and as part of that, there's also energy vampirism where these vampires will kind of feed off the energy of the people around them which is why a lot of times they like to be in large cities so they can be around many people. Now regarding the vampirism, it really has nothing to do with any fictional vampires that you hear in storybooks, they don't have supernatural powers, they don't get affected by sunlight, it's really more of a belief and a culture. And thank you this is Jet with Vampire Freaks in New York."
