"So it's fallen on you, you are in charge of planning a wedding shower. You need to know how to know when to time a wedding shower. That is a great question and I'm going to give you a couple of pointers here. Generally speaking, the order of events is shower, then bachelorette and then wedding. However, nowadays, this is really really flexible. A bride may be having multiple showers, she may have friends or family out of state and she is going out of town for a shower. Something like that. So talk to her first and find out what all she has on deck in order to work your timing accordingly. Traditionally a wedding shower is held four to six weeks before the wedding, but again you want to make sure that you're not crashing into another party. The bride is probably under a lot of stress right now. She's going to need a little bit of buffer time in between each of these festivities and events as she goes. So work with her on picking a comfortable date, send your invitations out approximately four weeks before the shower. However a note here, those shower invitations should not go out before her wedding invitation have. So again, I keep saying, talk to the bride because this is so important. Touch base with her, if her wedding invitations have gone out then you're clear to send your shower invitations. Invitations are somewhat flexible nowadays as well. Traditionally it is a written invitation and people are going to physically RSVP, but nowadays more and more people are using electronic invitations and that can buy you a little bit of time if you are needing to send your invitations out closer to your event. Basically that's about it. Talk to the bride and work out that timing accordingly. Get your invitations out with enough buffer time and oh, make sure that you have the bride update her bridal registry before the shower so guests have that to choose from with gift giving options. That's what you've got to do. Have a great date."
