"How to host a shower for a second wedding can be a little bit tricky. If you have a bride who's going down the isle for the second time, and she had everything traditional before, had all the showers and things like that. It's going to get a little delicate, but it doesn't mean that you can't throw a fantastic shower and have a great time. First thing you want to do is talk to the bride, find out a little bit. Did she have another shower? Would she like one this time? What does she see happening? Maybe she's open to co-ed. Co-ed is a great way to throw a shower for a second wedding. Bring the guys along and have a completely different kind of party than she had the other time. Another great way to throw a shower for a second wedding is themed. You can incorporate all kinds of themes depending on what she's in to. Sure, she's got all of her china and toasters, and she's fine in that department now. But is she a fitness buff? Does she love fine wine? You can use any of these things to incorporate a theme and get the gift registries geared towards that theme so that it's not like it was before. One thing you want to keep in mind, you're going to want to avoid traditional shower games, thee old school things like: How many ribbons you break equals the how many babies you're going to have, or a toilet-paper wedding dress. Those might be a little "been there, done that" for her. So, keep the games new and fresh. A version of a newlywed type game...ask her fiance some questions in advance, get those answers down and then see how well she can match them at her shower. Something like that will be a lot more fun for her. Keep it fun, keep it fresh, casual. Have a great time."
