How to Host a Honey-Do Bridal Shower

"Let's talk a little bit about how to host a Honey-do wedding shower. Honey-do not the melon. Honey-do home improvement honey-do list. This is a home improvement themed shower and it can be a lot of fun. It's usually coed. You want to take that home improvement theme all the way through your invitations, your decorations, your gifts, everything about the shower. So make your invitations whether you're going to use an electronic invitation or a physical invitation, home improvement theme that can include hardwares or different kinds of home improvement imagery on them. As far as decorations keep it simple and it can be really, really easy. You can go to a local hardware store, home improvement store or even a discount store and find little hammers, little screw drivers, things like that, tie them together in bunches with a piece of pretty ribbon and can use that as your centerpiece. You can also take vases in a variety of shapes and sizes and fill them up with nuts and bolts. You can use that actually as the base of a flower arrangement or leave it to stand on its own. That's your invitations and your decorations how about those gifts? Have the couple register at a local home improvement store or two. They all have registries. They don't call them bridal registries but they do have registries available so that your couple can register for any home improvement item that they might want. As far as games go toss the traditional shower games. You want to keep this home improvement related so a great idea is to use a tool belt. Take a tool belt, attach 15 to 20 little tools. Keep some of them simple like a hammer, others more obscure. Give your guests each a pad of paper and a pen. Don't tell them what's happening. Have either the bride or the groom, I prefer to use the groom for this, have them model the belt. Walk into the room for 60 seconds and then walk back out. Then asks your guests to name every tool they saw on the belt. Whoever gets the closest wins a home improvement related prize. Now if you really want to be creative and have a lot of fun with this you can take it to the next level. You can even make this a costume and ask all of your guests to come dressed as plumbers and handy men and whatever home improvement item they can think of."
