"Hi, I'm Rachel Yatuzis and I'm going to show you how to clean a flokati rug. It's really common sense when it comes to a flokati rug as to how to clean it. If it's small enough like this one, this is mine, and I actually keep this by my back door, and people walk on it and step on it and it gets really dirty, as you can see on this side, and this side doesn't get so dirty. But when I wash it, the way that I'm about to show you, it comes out looking brand new every time. Everybody asks me "why do you have a white flokati rug as your, you know, door mat?" And I tell 'em "because it looks great." When it's clean, it looks awesome. So, if you have a larger rug, you may want to do this in your bath tub, or if it's nice outside, you can lay your rug on pavement, like on your driveway and you know, get a cleaning solution together and scrub it. Anyway, the most important thing you want to know is what to clean it with. I was this one in the washing machine because it is small enough. The secret to cleaning rugs is OxiClean. OxiClean is awesome. You can add a scoop of it to a gallon of water. You know, it comes with this little scoop. It comes with all these really cool directions that tells you how to use it. I just add a scoop of it to a gallon of water and use that as your solution if you're going to do it by hand in your driveway or in the bath tub. In the bath tub, you know, I would add a couple of scoops to the bath tub water, but OxiClean is what's going to get it really clean. If you're going to do it in the washing machine, I've just thrown my rug in there. You want to add your, your laundry detergent as you normally would. Do not wash it on hot water. Always wash it with cold water and make sure that you put it on the delicate cycle. If there's a hand wash cycle or a delicate cycle, that's best 'cause you don't want to pull the fibers too much. But just, whatever you use to clean it, just add a scoop of OxiClean and that is going to clean it perfect. Make sure if you're doin' it outside or in the tub that you spray it and rinse it off really well before you bring it back in the house 'cause pets who may be sensitive to chemicals, it may burn their little paws. So rinse it out really well. If you do it in the washing machine, hang it up to dry. I'm Rachel Yatuzis and that is how you clee, clean a flokati rug."
