My name is Tanya Batts, and I'm with Physique Designs. Today, I want to talk to you about what you should wear in a steam room. So steam room, going to get hot. We're talking between 110 to 114 degrees Fahrenheit with 100 percent humidity of moist heat. That means you're going to sweat. You don't want to wear the clothes you worked out in and go slopping in there and have a seat. You want to wear a nice clean towel, preferably a white towel, because the dyes of a towel might actually go into the skin. You also want to wear flip-flops. The reason is microbes. A steam room is a breeding ground for bacteria and microbes. We're talking athlete's foot, fungus, it can get kind of ugly. Also, you don't want to go commando. You want to make sure you've got that towel on and the flip-flops on. It's just kind of etiquette. You want to think about the gym, the people around you. If you've got your own, do what you want to do. But in a gym, you want to make sure you have the towel, the flip-flops, drink plenty of water before and after, think about gym etiquette. And that's what you should wear in a steam room.
