Hi my name is Tanya Batts and I'm with Physique Designs. Today I want to talk to you about the benefits of using a steam room. First off, a steam room is moist heat. Temperatures ranging from 110 to about 114 degrees Fahrenheit with a100% humidity. So you're going to sweat a lot. Once you go into the room, you're going to get somewhat of an artificial fever or an induced fever so you're body's going to warm up. Your blood vessels are going to dilate, it's going to help your blood pressure drop a little, your circulation increases, your body cell metabolism speeds up and the repair processes kind of kick in because they're thinking why you got a fever. So your body starts to kind of activate, the defensive actions kind of kick in. So it really is a great way to sweat out all those toxins, you're sweating out salt, just a great thing to do after a great workout, get in there, sweat it out but you got to make sure you drink plenty of water before and after you leave a steam room. So steam rooms and sauna are kind of similar, you're getting the same benefits but yo got the moist heat. So if you're congested, might help with some congestion, I'm going to tell you about a myth, there is no evidence that you can get weight loss from a steam room. So that's the benefits of using a steam room.
