"Hi this Yolanda Vanveen, and in this segment we're going to talk about, how to design a children's garden. Now gardening is such a rewarding hobby for so many adults, but it's great experience for children as well. And all of us have wonderful memories of our grandparent's and our parent's garden growing up and we want to share that with our children as well. The easiest thing you can do is to give your children about a 3 foot by 3 foot area and dedicate it to themselves, and then they can pick out their favorite vegetables and fruits and flowers to plant in it. And so when you're designing in it, the rule of thumb I have found is, you want to plant vegetables that your children enjoy. If they love tomatoes, plant little cherry tomatoes, if they love strawberries, make sure there's strawberries in their garden, if they love sunflowers, put lots of sunflowers in their area, or zinnias or nice bright calla lilies or lilies that are fragrant, because fragrance is also important in a children's garden. And make sure sure you have spring, summer and fall represented. So you have tulips and daffodils in the spring, calla lilies and lilies in the summer and lots of fruit and vegetables through the fall. And then that way you can enjoy your garden and so can your children."
