"We're here today to talk about how to fill out a tax form. As daunting as it may appear it is doable if you will just approach it in a methodical way. You need to look at it, become familiar with it and then work your way down one line at a time and make use of the instruction book because it will do a pretty good job of what goes on each line. For instance on a 1040 on all your forms your first section would be income, your next section would be your deductions and then on your 1040 you go to your second page, you pick up your tax credits and as you work down through each one you'll have a subtotal usually for each section and when you get down to the bottom it will give you a net taxable income and at that point you will go back to your instruction book, you'll look at what your category is if you are single, married, filing jointly, married, filing separately, etc. You will find your category and you'll go down in the table to the net taxable amount and then move across and that will show you how much tax is due. There is a line here for how much is due. You will subtract the amount due from the amount that you hopefully have paid and hopefully you have paid more than what you owe and you will be due a refund. If not you will have to submit a check with your return to the IRS."
