"How's it going? This is Brandon Pearce from Foolish Pride Tattoo Company here in St. Petersburg, Florida. I am here to talk to you a little bit about why tattoo ink doesn't ever come off. When it comes to a tattoo it is a misconception that that tattoo is actually on top of the skin. It is actually inside the skin. Basically when we are tattooing it is small punctures within the skin that is basically putting the ink into the first four layers of skin all the way down. Once that is actually in the skin pretty much the reason it doesn't come out is because your skin heals faster than it can actually push the ink out. You can have a little bit of the ink actually come out during the healing process, that is normal and it is called fall out. When a tattoo falls out it just means you have to touch it up. Not every tattoo falls out but it does lighten up a little bit. Over time tattoos will blue and fade though. They won't completely come off but they won't look as pristine as when you first got a tattoo. Other than that it is pretty much because your skin is so quickly healing that the ink just won't come out. So again this is Brandon Pearce from Foolish Pride Tattoo Company in St. Petersburg, Florida. Go to a licensed professional when you get tattooed."
