"This is Brandon Pearce with Foolish Pride Tattoo Company in St. Petersburg, Florida. I'm going to talk to you a little bit about the tools it takes to tattoo. For the most part you'll learn what tools are needed, and how to use them through a proper apprenticeship. Make sure you go to an artist that's already a licensed tattoo artist in the state that you're in. Once you've done that, you'll learn a little bit about the trade. The things that basically are used, you're going to have your tattoo machine. You're going to have to have a liner and a shader. One's actually to do the line work, one's to put the color in, one's to do the shading. Other than that, with the machine you're going to have your tube and your needles. You have to learn about all the different types of needles that you're going to use in different pieces. You've got your power supply as well as your foot switch, which basically is going to run all the power and the voltage to your machine, which is going to effect the tattoo. So, go to a proper apprenticeship, learn what you need to learn, and then you can be tattooing. But don't try and do it on your own. Don't try and pick up a machine on your own. Actually find out from an artist what you need to do and how to tattoo properly. This is Brandon Pearce with Foolish Pride Tattoo Company in St. Petersburg, Florida. Be safe and get a proper apprenticeship."
