"I'm Rokosz, Your Digital Lifestyle Expert and we're discussing the Panasonic DVC Mini DV Tape. The Panasonic DVC or Mini DV tape is a standard Mini DV format. You're going to find it used in anywhere from consumer, prosumer and professional video cameras, Camcorders, obviously. And it's one of the major three manufacturers of it, being Panasonic, Sony and JVC. Now when it comes to Tape Stock, I always recommend sticking with the major manufacturer's Tape Stock. A couple of reasons with that, one you're going to find that they have support for professional formats. And that they tend to keep their quality up because they do have such a professional, professional usage on the field. And there is nothing worse, I'm talking from personal experience here, guys. There is nothing worse than having a tape fail, because what that can mean to you is, the entire event is gone. There are some people who specialize and do emergency tape restoration, and that's an incredibly expensive process. Alright, so choosing a quality Tape Stock is ultimately important, like so many things in life. It's about deciding how you're going to use it. If you're recording your kids' play, then well, you know, any good tapes, any decent Tape Stock will probably do well for you. Something you may not want to invest in, but on the flip side it is a once in a lifetime opportunity, your kid in a play. And you know, you may want to consider going to something a little bit better. When it comes to DVC tape, you can pay any where between two dollars and thirty dollars for them. But what does that mean? Well, two dollars being your lower end Panasonic and twenty nine dollars being your high end. If you're running HD or High Definition, HDV in your Camcorder, and it's an important event. Then you may want to go up to their twenty nine dollar version of it. Why? Because that's the type of quality you do get, what you pay for when it comes to Tape Stock. Panasonic is certainly a large player in the HDV market. So they're going to put out, their reputation can be based directly on their Tape Stock, as well as Sony and JVC. So sticking with the major manufacturers, Bob's Video Tape Company, you may not want it, you may not want to try. But as far as Panasonic and my personal experience goes. One of the reasons I like them, is in certain versions of them, they come with more of a professional hard case. As opposed to more of the plastic cases that you'll find, with the off the shelf ones. A little bit more durability when we're using it out in the field. So if you're thinking about DVC for Panasonic, pretty much can't go wrong, find one in your price range. I'm Rokosz, Your Digital Lifestyle Expert, we'll see you next time."
