"Hey, my name is Brian Mederios. I am a professional saxophonist and I wanted to explain a little bit about tenor saxophones and review them for you. The tenor saxophone is kind of in the middle of the family of saxophones. We have got alto, starting from the smallest we have got soprano sax, alto sax, tenor saxophone, and baritone saxophone being the four most popular types of saxophones. A tenor saxophone is pretty popular because of, you know super famous, jazz musicians such as John Coltrane, Sunny Rollins, there is countless tenor saxophone players that have made a major impact in jazz music, American jazz music you know throughout the decades and decades of of jazz music that has been played. A tenor saxophone, as you can see it is a bigger sax alto sax is a little bit smaller, this is this is, similar to the voice of a tenor singer in a choir. They have as far as the range is concerned. Price ranges for these horns, beginner horns you can probably pick up a tenor beginner horn from anywhere from four-hundred to nine-hundred dollars, moving into the intermediate range where they are a little bit higher quality materials a little bit higher quality, a little higher quality you know workmanship you are talking thousand to fifteen-hundred dollars and then you have professional horns you can spend over five-thousand dollars on on a really good professional horn. So, price range just depends on what you are going to get you definitely get what you pay for with these horns. This is a Selmer. It is a really old Selmer that was handed down to me, a lot of times when you are hunting for a vintage saxophone, yard sales, eBay, great places to look because a lot of times people who selling saxophones do not know what they have got. So it is a good idea to do some research, see see what you are looking for you can actually get a really great deal on saxophones from people that just do not know what they are selling. So in a review a tenor saxophone plays a tenor range, a tenor as in a singer in a chorus. It has also got these big old reeds that you have to you know definitely keep moist compared to an alto saxophone or a soprano saxophone you are working with a lot thicker of a piece of wood it is more likely to squeak you know you need to definitely keep track of what of of what you are working with, you get what you pay for with your saxophone, get what you pay for with your reeds and your mouthpiece as well. So in review, tenor saxophone, one of my favorite instruments. There you have it. That is the tenor sax."
