"Hi, Teri here and in this segment I am going to teach you why it is good to wash your hands. Well first of all because it is sanitary and there are many reasons why we might want to wash our hands. For example, let's say we have been gardening or doing any sort of outside work. Now if you are holding your pets, you'll want to wash your hands after that. Of course, always after using the wash room you are going to want to wash your hands and even if you have been shaking a lot of hands, you'll want to wash your hands. Now most germs are spread through our hands so that is why it is so important that we keep them washed. Experts say between six to eight times a day on average we should be washing our hands. Now there is three different ways that we can wash our hands. We can use bar soap, liquid soap or hand sanitizer. Hand sanitizer should be used when you don't have the option of using liquid soap or bar soap because this is something you can carry with you and use on the run and it does work well. So remember when we're doing things that have our hands in contact with a lot of germs and a lot of people or animals or objects, we want to make sure we are washing our hands because cold and flu season we don't want to be catching anything so wash your hands."
