"Hi, my name is David Anderson and for you golfers out there today we're going to show you how to re-grip your golf clubs. A lot of times after a lot of use, the grips themselves will become worn and you need a good grip on your golf clubs in order to play the game properly. So what we're going to do with the help of a friend of mine, Bill Agayo, he has the proper equipment so we're going to show exactly what you do to re-grip your golf club so they will be ready for your next round of golf and you'll have a good tight grip. What we're going to do first is we're going to strip the grip off the golf club. This is the grip at the bottom of the club, and we'll take a razor blade and slice it right down to the very end, as Bill will show you how to do it. So he removes, pulls it off, pulls that old grip off. Notice there's some tape left over and this is just adhesive tape, so he will be replacing that, scrape that tape off. And what he's doing is scraping the tape off, which is underneath the grip. The tape adheres to the club and once he gets the entire tape off, then we're ready to restart the process again. But with a sharp edge he is now removing the tape. As you can tell it takes a little time. But again the grip is very important for any and all golfers. He continues to hold it in the vice so he can work by himself, keeping the golf club taut. He's almost got all the tape removed and wiping it off with a towel to clean up any other residue, anything left over from the old tape, gets it nice and clean. Now what he'll do is he'll take the adhesive tape, first of all he'll take the grip and he will measure the length of the grip, see if it corresponds with the shaft, and that mark is his mark on where to start the tape, cut off about a half an inch long, so he'll have enough to work with. Then you just apply the tape on to the shaft, the metal shaft. See it is double backing tape so that it sticks both inside and outside. Roll it on to the shaft, it's very critical here you fold the back end so that it is ready for the new grip. And you take grip solvent, you put your finger on the hole of the bottom of the grip to make sure that the solvent doesn't run out, and this is good for making it slide easier on to the shaft. (How much did you use, just to fill it up or just about half way?) What you do with the solvent, you fill it up about half way inside the grip and then you mix it all around so that it covers the entire inside, and once you're ready, then you use some of the solvent on the tape itself. So now the grip is empty of all the solvent and now here comes the grip. Slide it on, that's a new grip. Then you wait for it to dry, you can also wipe it off I assume with a towel, and then you're ready to play. Overnight, let it sit for one night and you're ready to play the next day. And that's how you replace a grip on your golf club."
