"When is the best time to buy a plane ticket? You want to buy your tickets early but not too early. Typically an airline will start to manage their cheapest seats about four months prior to travel. One of the cheapest travel days is going to be traveling on a Saturday whereas traveling on a Sunday could cost you more money. When you're shopping for your holiday travel and buying holiday airline tickets, you're definitely going to want to plan that really far in advanced, up I would say probably 6 to 8 months out at least if you're going to be traveling over Christmas or Easter, those are the two busiest times of the year to travel and the two most expensive times. If you are looking for international tickets, a really good option is to definitely see your travel agent. They have options to go to airline consolidators that will definitely give you discounted fares or give your travel agent discounted fares, they then pass that discount onto you where it's a lot less money than buying a published airfare directly through the airline. It could save you hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars. So when you're traveling international, it's definitely best to check with your travel agent and go through an air consolidator. There are certain websites that can be helpful. You can plug in your traveling request and they can send you e-mail alerts and let you know when some good deals are coming out. And that is the best time to buy an airline ticket."
