"Herbal medicine can be very effective to help quit smoking. And I've helped many patients quit smoking with the, actually it's very effective with the herbs with the acupuncture. And there's a have many cases that studies, I really enjoy helping people quit smoking because it's not that hard, usually 3 to 5 treatments and herbal formulas, and you are a non-smoker for life. It's really exciting to watch people get through that and easily quit, and it's not that hard of a thing to do and it's very effective. So, a couple of the herbal formulas that I would prescribe in the clinic, I'd like to share with you. One of the formulas I might prescribe is Calm ES and this is really good to help with the withdrawal symptoms because usually people get very nervous when they're trying to quit smoking, so it's very calming. I may prescribe this one also, just plain Calm, and that relieves anxiety and nervousness, and then, this is called West Lake Tea, these are tea bags, and I have them drink the tea, this is helps to detox the nicotine and it repairs the lungs. So, but as with our herbal formulas, it's important to consult with your acupuncture physician or herbalist to make sure you have the proper diagnosis, treatment plan and herbal formula. All the patients that come to me to quit smoking, I give them these packages that I get for free from the Tobacco Education and Prevention Program, and it's very important to get a program together with a quit date, and how what you're going to do instead of smoking, and a plan to clean out your living space, your car, to make sure you're ready to quit, so this is very helpful materials, and has a hotline if you want a body to assist you, and so, between this and the herbs and the acupuncture, you can become a non-smoker."
