"The Jacobean era really started back in the 1600's, however, most of what we see on the market now is not original Jacobean, it's more of the Jacobean revival, which is, again, running conjointly with the, the Victorian era. And, you'll see American, you'll see Belgian designs, French designs, American designs. It's characterized by heavy, heavy carving. A lot of carved handles, a lot of the animal faces. The North Wind design is one we see a lot, both in drawer fronts, and in the hardware on some of the pieces. You'll see cabinets, you'll see chest of drawers, you'll see foyer tables and cabinet pieces. A lot of the chairs don't seem to be around as much, and I'm not sure exactly why that is, whether they did not survive through the time, or if they just simply weren't as popular in that revival period, therefore they weren't built. But if you want a piece that just really gives a lot of bang for the buck, and gives a lot of personality to a room, then selecting a beautiful Jacobean carved cabinet, you can't do better."
