"In this clip we're going to discuss guitar teaching aids. Very basic from beginners point of view. How to hold a guitar, proper way of holding, holding your pick. An example, in a book like this, Guitar Method, Grade One. This goes, discuss certain things as basic tuning. Maybe you want to buy a tuner when you first start, but you have to learn how to tune a guitar by ear. Training you ear might take some time. Could take you a month, could take up to six months. But a book like this is essential. Also getting a guitar chord chart like this would be great. This will keep you busy for months and months. Pretty much basic rock, blues, everything is going to be in these two books here. It's going to give you exercise, different patterns, proper structure, holding your guitar and leaning. Placement of the thumb, very important. And holding a pick. When you're holding a guitar pick most people find beginners are holding the pick on the end and they're not getting the attack they're looking for on the guitar. Always hold the pick very tight, small amount, angled down slightly for the attack you're looking for. Very important. And some people you'll see using their whole arm, swinging it to a strumming motion. What you can d o most of the time, it's always in the wrist. Back and forth, back and forth. Certain chords, you see a lot of people with the bad habit, swinging their arms back and forth. Not necessarily the best thing to do. Alright."
