"My name is Marc Owens and I'm the customer experience manager here at the Best Buy in Pleasant Hill. One of the more common question we're hearing nowadays is "how do I hook my karaoke player to a television set through a DVD player?" The first thing you're going to need is your RCA cable. The cable is the traditional yellow, red, and white cable, with the yellow carrying the video, and the red and white carrying your audio. You're going to want to locate the outputs on the back of your karaoke player, and then match the cable colors to the outputs on the back of your karaoke player. Yellow to yellow, red to red, and white to white. Once you've done this, you're going to then locate your DVD player. Here's one item of note: 99% of DVD players are not going to have an input on the back of them. So what you're going to want to do is, you're going to want to find yourself a DVD recorder. The other items that you'll be able to use to get a through put from your karaoke player to your TV are going to be items like a digital video recorder, a VCR, or a source selector. Once you've got your digital video recorder, you're going to want to locate the inputs on the digital video recorder, and match those same cable up. Yellow to yellow, red to red, and white to white. After you've done that, you're going to want to take the same type of RCA cable and plug it into the output from the back of digital video recorder. So for a quick recap on how you hook a karaoke player through to your TV, remember a couple of key things: 99% of DVD players are not going to have the input that you need to be able to take the RCA cable. So you're going to want to find a device like a digital video recorder with a digital tuner, a VCR, or a source selector to be able to hook that same karaoke device to your TV.
