"Hi, my name's Carma Zarosinski and I'm with Carma for Design, Home Staging and Custom Interior Design. My studio is located in beautiful downtown Camus, Washington. Today, the question is what do you need to become an interior designer? My first recommendation would be realizing, yourself, whether you have an affinity toward design. There are many facets to that question. First of all, do you enjoy looking at different design styles, different design patterns? Are you good at picking out color pallets? Do you you have an affinity towards colors? Are you interested in the latest trends and also the traditional end of things? So the first thing to ask yourself, do I have a knack for this? And you can find that out by just observing. When you go to a place, are you interested in how things are placed? How they are spatially placed? The colors that are used together. I would suggest that before you invest in an education and all the money that you would need to be a certified or accredited interior designer that you offer to work for either a interior design firm, or perhaps an independent and you can see how they work. You need to be able to be creative, but also be quite technical. There are a lot of measurements and technical data to keep in mind as an interior designer. So ask yourself the real questions: do I have a knack for it? Do I like color? Am I good with numbers? Can I bring many things in on budget? On time? And work with different people? You have to have some great people skills to be an interior designer. So, go investigate and ask yourself hard questions."
