"Hi, my name is Laura, and today I'm going to talk with you about how to write a newsletter. If you've got an organization or a group of people and you need to organize them and let them know about everything that's going on in your organization, you're going to absolutely have to have a newsletter. And you can do this in one of two ways. You can have it printed out on paper, or you can do it online. But the best thing for you to do first when you're making your newsletter is to actually give it a title that reflects your organization. So for example, if you are writing a newsletter for a book club and your book club is the book...The Boston Bookworms, you can call your newsletter The Daily Apple or something, you know, for bookworms to go into -- something cheesy like that. Or you could just, you know, make up something that makes sense along with your organization's need. I have an example here for a senate newsletter -- staff of the senate newsletter of Wyoming called The Lariat, obviously, because of Wyoming. So give it a title. Organize the newsletter into a small version of a newspaper. So you're going to have not only stories, but also visuals to accompany it because no one wants to look at just, you know, a newsletter that's just text. So you want to, you know, sort of splice in some pictures to give it that feel that it's either...you know, it's like a small version newspaper. And then finally, you want to make sure to include upcoming events and details on these events. In this particular newspaper, we have a food drive that is sort of, you know, billed out for everyone here. So you're going to want to let them know about important things that are coming up. You'd even go so far as to have a calendar in your newsletter if you've got a big enough organization to do that for. And that is pretty much how you organize a newsletter."
