"Hi, my name is Laura, and today I'm going to talk with you about jobs for people with degrees in education. So of course, you went to school for education, so you probably want to be a teacher. Luckily for you, teachers are absolutely in-demand. Even as other jobs are being cut, teachers are being hired. So you're actually very lucky to have gotten your degree in education, especially if you're a good teacher and you're one who cares and you're one who is put together and who people want to hire. So of course, what you want to do is you just want to go to your district website. There are actually many different districts in each city in the United States, so you're going to want to figure out, you know, how many districts do I want to apply to, what are these districts like, and how many jobs are available in those districts? Probably the best time for you to apply for a job as a teacher is in the summer when new schools are being built and they need people to staff them in August and stuff like that. So you're actually going to want to look at them starting around that time. Something else you can do if you don't want to be a teacher per se, is you could actually start off, you know, if you're a little apprehensive, you can start off being an assistant teacher or a classroom assistant. Or you could even work in the office. That's something that's probably a little below you because you do have a degree in education, but you could still, you know, see if you like to hang out in the particular school by getting a job as an office. There's really nothing wrong with that. Also, you can finally work as an administrator. You're going to find all of these jobs -- the office jobs, the teaching jobs, and the administrator jobs -- on the specific district's websites. In order to be an administrator, you're going to have to have a little bit more training. So if you really think you want to take your career in that direction, you know, figure out the steps for doing that and your district will help you to figure that out if you just go ask them. And finally, anything else, if you want to go outside of education, your classroom management skills are going to turn into people management skills that you can use in an office environment or a retail environment. And your psychology courses are going to help you deal with people. So really, your education degree is going to help you a lot in obtaining a job in many different fields."
