"Hi, my name is Laura, and today I'm going to talk with you about how to facilitate a book club. So you want to get a group of friends together or just a group of people together and have everyone read a book every month or every couple of weeks. This is the best thing for you to do is to make a book club. First what you want to do is discover a name for your book club. I have an example here of the Belmont Shore Book Club, and they have made a flyer for reading one of their books. The book is called Ella Minnow Pea: A Novel in Letters, which is a really clever title. So once you get the name of your book club, you're going to want to start making fliers, like this one, for the readings of your books that you're going to want everyone to read. Whenever you're picking your book, you might want to create a calendar with a book for every month to prepare yourself, so that the book can correspond with the month. And you can take national holidays and things to create an idea of what you should read each month. For example, in February you could read "A Raisin in the Sun" for Black History Month, and then you could go on from there to have a book for each month that corresponds with the month. Or you could just get creative and read great books in whatever order you would like each month. Next, you need to find a place to host your book club. In this particular flier for the Belmont Shore Book Club, there are two locations that they will be meeting at. So you actually have two locations in the same city which people can go meet for this big book club meeting. And they have clearly outlined when they are going to be meeting. So find a place to host it. Either at, like here, at a restaurant, a public place, or at someone's home. Just make sure that there are refreshments offered so that people will have a good time and won't get hungry and want to leave. And finally, make sure the book club is open to whoever wants to join, and the best way to do this is to make sure you get those fliers out there into book stores, coffee houses, and places where book lovers hang out so that everybody can know about your book club. So, good luck."
