"Hi, I'm Dave Wang with Summerhays Piano Source and we're going to talk about the types of pianos. This is a console piano. There's one size of piano that's a little bit smaller than this. If it's under forty inches tall in height, which would be a shorter piano than this, it would be a spinet piano, so that's your short small piano. You have your spinet piano. Then you'll move to your console pianos. And consoles range between forty inches and forty three inches, forty four inches typically. Then you go into the larger size pianos, which is a studio upright. And the studio uprights range in height from about forty five inches to about forty eight inches. And then you can get into even the full size uprights which you see in some of the older antique uprights which are even a little bit taller than that. They can go up to fifty seven, fifty eight inches tall in the older style uprights. Typically most manufacturers will make a console at about forty three inches, a studio at forty six to forty eight, and a full size upright between fifty and fifty two inches tall. Then from there, you go to baby grands, and baby grands can be as small as four and a half feet. Now, that's in length now as opposed to height. And then you get into grand pianos, and grand pianos can go all the way up to nine feet, nine and a half feet in length, which would be your concert grand that you see on the concert stage. So that's the types of pianos and if you want further information, feel free to check out worldpiano.net or contact us here at Summerhays piano source."
