"Hi, my name is Beau Babka and we're coming to you from the Cottonwood Heights Police Department in Utah. The next question is, is what are the different types of police departments or law enforcement agencies? Number one, there's local law enforcement, which are police departments that are normally engaged in law enforcement and community activities at a municipal level. And they deal with the crimes that are going on and the investigations that are going on in their jurisdictions. Then there's another level or layer, which is the County Sheriff's Office, which the Sheriff of a county, particular county, is in charge of civil-type actions. Civil paperwork and action. The jail, the running of the county jail, which everyone in that county, municipal police and other people will book people into that county jail. And then you have county deputies that will be involved in law enforcement investigative services in unincorporated areas of the county or contract cities, or cities that want them to be involved in their law enforcement services. So there's a couple...when we talk local policing and local law enforcement, there's a few different levels. They all act in conjunction with one another, and really try and help one another, but that's how they go about their business."
