"Hi, I'm Trina Sims of Green Star Herbs, and I'm here today to answer the question: What is saw palmetto? Saw palmetto, or Serenoa repens, is a small palm, usually two to four feet high, that grows in the U.S. from South Carolina to South Texas. It makes a very oily berry about the size of a chickpea, and that's the part that we use. Saw palmetto is most popularly used to support men's prostate health and in cases of benign prostate hyperplasia. It's used as a whole berry or chopped or powdered and in liquid extracts. You'll find it in teas, capsules, and as I said, in some liquid formulations. I hope this has given you some useful information on saw palmetto. Thank you."
