Hi, I'm Trina Sims of Green Star Herbs and I'm going to talk a little bit today about what herbs and other foods help to promote a clean colon. Two herbs commonly used for this purpose are senna and cascara sagrada. Now, both of these can cause violent purging of the bowel and pain and cramping, as well. If you choose to use those, or other herbs in their class, please use them under the care of a qualified health practitioner. Some gentler herbs that we can use for the same purpose of helping to keep the colon clean are psyllium seed husk and chia seed. You want to soak the chia seed in some sort of liquid, water, tea, fruit juice before you use it. Now, among the very best things we can do to help promote a clean colon are include lots of fiber or what granny used to call roughage in the diet. Lots of vegetable, leafy greens, fruits, particularly apples, apples are one of the best fruits to use to help promote a clean colon. Whole apples, apple sauce, unfiltered whole apple juice, or even a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and six to eight ounces of water once a day can help keep the colon working well, and keep it clean. If you're going to use the apple cider vinegar, please remember to rinse your teeth afterwards, so they don't get damaged by the acid. Another fruit used world wide to help promote colon cleansing and colon health are dried plums, these are wonderful just as they are, or they can be stewed, or added into food in various ways. Peaches, as well can promote colon cleansing and colon health in a very gentle, very nice way. Additionally, a warm bath and a little nice abdominal massage can help keep things moving in a healthy manner. I hope you've found this information to be helpful, thank you!
