"We are going to talk about home remedies for dog's stomach sickness. What we are talking about really is stomach upset, that can be gastritis that can be anything that they eat that they were not supposed to you know nausea, vomiting, anything like that. Now vomiting can be serious and a dog that vomits once or twice you that that can be ok that can be just simple nausea but dogs that are vomiting more than that can be seriously ill so not doing a home remedy and checking with your clinic is going to be the best thing to do. Especially if they have something like pancreatitis or something like that. So at home the first thing to do if your pet is vomiting or your dog is vomiting is actually to take up the food and water. Now, there is a big myth in that you know if if a dog is vomiting they are automatically dehydrated keep giving them water well what happens is dogs want to keep gulping that water and they keep vomiting so that actually makes them worse, so the first thing to do with a vomiting dog is actually take up food and water that is your best home remedy period. There is nothing else that you can do over the counter or otherwise to stop vomiting so if you NPO which means nothing per os or no food or water if you NPO that dog for your know two to four hours after vomiting and they are doing ok you can reintroduce a little bit of food and or water see if they keep that down, if they keep vomiting you need veterinary attention and so lots of vomiting can lead to dehydration but just a couple times will not so take up that food and water."
