"Hi. My name is Dave Andrews and today I'm going to talk to you about building a website with SEO. Now SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization and that's basically the process of trying to figure out what people who search search engines are going to be looking for. What they're going to actually type in. Now what they type in is called a keywords on a search engine. So if your website is about dogs and they're wanting to search for dachshunds, for instance, you're going to want to somewhere in the text of your website mention dachshunds. And maybe amongst the other group of breeds, mention it a couple of times on that website. That way when they search for dachshunds, they'll be redirected to your site. I'm going to go to the computer and show you a couple more things. This, for instance, is my website. And I have a system on here called google analytics. Which if you go to google.com/analytics, you can sign up for. Now I have my google analytics page open. This is a listing basically of key words that people have searched for on google that has the result of bringing them to my page. Now for SEO, it's a good idea to look at the keywords that people are actually using and to sort of emphasize those keywords on your page. Like here is where somebody said easy hard drive space monitor and that's actually something that I sell on my website here, easy hard drive space monitor. And they found that because they searched specifically for it. There's a couple more. There's like a remote server hard drive monitor. That'll actually bring them here as well, because I mentioned that you can search remotely right here, monitor remote hard disk. I actually took that key word, remote and I mentioned that in my page. And google is smart enough to know that in context and to actually return that as a result for people who search for it. Now when you're building your website, you don't want to take a keywords and mention them a thousand times on a page, because that actually won't help you. The search engines are smart enough to know that you're just repeating the same type of content and they won't display it as a result. So it's a good idea to find the words that people are looking for and kind of mention them in paragraph form as best as you can interspersed with the rest of your content. That way as people search for those keywords, they'll find your website in the search. And I'm going to give you an example here. I'm going to go to google. And I'm going to search for hard drive space monitor. And you're going to find that my site is in google's search right here, easy hard drive space monitor. About the fourth or fifth item down. That's because of Search Engine Optimization. My name is Dave Andrews and I've just talked to you about how to build a web site with SEO."
