"Hi, my name is Dave Andrews. Today I'm going to show you how to make your computer run faster. Let's go to our computer screen and we're going to run a program here called the msconfig by clicking on the start button and typing on msconfig; we're actually typing that in, yes and then clicking msconfig and what is return here. Let's click on that and on Windows Vista you have to be an administrator to run that, so let's just click continue. So now what we're interested in, now that this program has come up is the start up tab. So just click on that. This is a list of all of the programs that run; basically when you log into your computer or when you turn it off. As you can see there's a lot of programs here that, that want to be run and the ones that have a check box next to them are actually the ones that will run as oppose to those that have or unchecked. Now one way to speed up your computer is to unchecked all these programs that run in the background. You don't want to unchecked things such as anti virus or if you see the word driver in the name of it. You probably don't want to unchecked that. But you'd be okay unchecking programs that you know run and that really hug the resources on the computer. Just unchecked those and click apply to save your changes. Now when you click okay it's going to ask you if you want to restart; I'm going to click exit without restart 'cause I have another tip to show you. Let's click on our start button and then click on computer. Now on c drive right click and go to properties and then the tools tab and then click on defragment now. Once again, you have to be an administrator so click continue. Now just start by clicking on defragment now. Now what this is going to do is defragment your hard drive which will align all of the files on disc to where they can most effects, effectively and efficiently be read by the hard drive and the net result of that alignment will be that the files will open faster and your computer will go faster in general. My name is Dave Andrews and I've just given you some tips for speeding up your computer."
