"Hi. My name is Dave Andrews and today I'm going to talk to you a little bit about blogging. A lot of people ask the question, what is blogging. The word blog is basically short for web log, which is sort of like an Internet journal type of thing. You basically log into your web or blog and you can type up a little post that would be sort of a journal entry about what you're doing for the particular day or something you've done in the past that you just feel like writing about. What I'm going to do now is I'm going to show you how to create a blog and how to add entries to your blog. Let's go to our computer. So go to blogger.com. And what you need to do is click on create a blog. Now it's going to ask you for information much like you're signing up for any web service. You know it's going to ask you for your email address, password and I'm going to go, I've already got an account created, so I'm going to go ahead and log in here. Now what this has allowed me to do here is this is my profile. And what I'm going to do within my profile is I'm going to click on create a blog. I'm going to call this Dave's Programming Blog Junior and I'm going to give it a URL of Dave's programming junior. Check availability. Now my blog is going to be Dave'sprogrammingJunior.blogspot.com. That is how you can access the web log. And I click the check availability and it told me that the address is available. So you then have to figure out what this text is saying. Looks like that's an n n a i, so I'm going to try that. Click continue. OK. The very next question it asks you is what template you would like to use for your web blog. Now you can click on these and kind of look at them. Click on preview right below it to look at them. This is what the black one looks like. And you can do that for any of those. Just pick the one you like and click preview. I'm going to go with the green one. Then I'm going to click continue. Tells me now my blog is being graded, so I'm going to start blogging. And now I am to the posting section. Every post has a title and some text. So I'm going to create a title here. My First Post. And this is basically going to say, welcome to my web blog. You can edit text here, like in Word. So as I'm saying here, I can bold things and I can italicize them and it's that easy just like I was in Microsoft Word. Now once I have what I would like to appear in my entry, I'm going to click publish post. Then I want to click view blog in a new window. And there is the very first post to my web blog, Dave's Programming Blog Junior and there is my first post. My name is Dave Andrews and I've just told you a little bit about blogging."
